InterContinental Wellington, an IHG Hotel

Easily one of the best hotel experiences we've had in a while. All the staff were so personable and went above and beyond to make our brief honeymoon stay very memorable. We received a lovely bottle of prosecco and desserts for our honeymoon and were also upgraded - a much appreciated surprise! The room was very clean. The location is perfect for exploring Wellington by foot. We also used the valet parking service and they were very efficient by taking our bags down after checking out and then by having our car ready when we were ready to leave a few hours later. We'd love to stay again and highly recommend.

The Intercontinental Wellington was great for a weekend getaway. We stayed 2 nights and had access to the club facilities which were excellent. The staff were great and accommodating. We did have an issue with an air-conditioning unit on the first night and changed rooms without problem. Hopefully that gets fixed as you don't really want the sound of a coffee grinder going off intermittently at night.Anyway would we stay again? Yes as long as the air-conditioner is sorted.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Intercontinental hotel, a reputed name in the hospitality industry. While the overall experience had its moments, I encountered a series of disappointing issues that significantly impacted my stay.Payment Hassle: My check-in experience began on a sour note when I was informed that my credit card had been declined. After confirming with my bank, it was evident that my card was in perfect order. This mix-up caused unnecessary stress and embarrassment, which I did not expect from a hotel of this caliber.Lack of Shower Gel: One of the basic amenities expected in any hotel room is shower gel. Unfortunately, my room lacked this essential item, leading to an inconvenience during my morning routine. For a hotel renowned for its service, I was surprised by such an oversight.Non-functional Coffee Machine: As a coffee lover, I eagerly looked forward to utilizing the in-room coffee machine. However, my excitement turned into disappointment as the machine was out of order. A functioning coffee machine is a small luxury that one expects in a 5-star hotel and its unavailability was truly disheartening.Absence of MacBook Power: Another letdown was the unavailability of a MacBook power adapter. As a business traveler, having the means to charge my computer is crucial for productivity. Unfortunately, the hotel was unable to provide this basic necessity, making it inconvenient for me to work efficiently during my stay.Overall, my experience at the Intercontinental hotel fell short of the expectations associated with a 5-star establishment. The inconveniences I faced were certainly unexpected and detracted from the otherwise luxurious ambiance. I sincerely hope that the hotel takes these feedbacks seriously and makes the necessary improvements to provide a more seamless and enjoyable stay for its guests in the future.

I enjoyed my stay. The room was spacious and well appointed. Though it did take me a while to work out the light switches. The room was clean. The bathroom was well stocked with toiletries and towels. The temp control was easy to use. The fan was a little louder than I preferred, but not a real issue. The bed was comfortable. Plenty of light during the day. A nice view and very convenient central location in easy walking distance of everywhere I needed to go. The pool was closed during my stay, which I was notified about before I arrived. The gym was well equipped. A very nice breakfast buffet and helpful, welcoming staff. I would stay there again.
