Warm Earth Cottage

Our stay at Warm Earth Cottage was a birthday surprise for my wife. She had absolutely no idea what was in store; all I knew about it was what I found in an online search (the fact it was off grid was a clincher).What a magical experience it proved to be. The entrance off Thompsons Track Road provided no hint of what lay ahead down the drive. Then a whole new world opened up.Jan, such an exceptional host, was there to meet us, took us to our beautiful cottage and gave us a thorough rundown of what was at our disposal.Just as quickly she whisked Bev off to a prearranged 90-minute pampering session. She was floating when she returned.From there we just took it all in. The setting is beautiful. Expansive lawns, trees, gardens, bird life and a babbling stream just metres way with swimming holes.There’s too much detail to describe here but suffice to say the cottage was exquisite. Jan’s attention to detail is next level; she thinks of everything.We had a pre ordered hamper dinner delivered to cook on the barbecue that evening with a breakfast hamper delivered the following morning. The presentation again reflected the lengths Jan goes to in making the experience so memorable.She gave us the fondest farewell the next morning and we left refreshed and replenished after a stay like no other. We won’t forget it - we’ll be back.

We just had a mini babymoon Night away before our first baby arrives and my goodness it was absolutely magical. Warm Earth Cottage is an absolute must on your list of things to do/places to stay in the tauranga area!!! It is beyond worth every cent you pay. Jan is the most attentive and beautiful soul who takes care of you from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. Her slice of paradise is just beautiful from the gorgeous gardens to the birds and native birds that roam and fly about the grounds, to the gorgeous cottages you stay in, with candles for light billy fire for heat and a gorgeous bath to soak in outside. And you cannot gogrget about the brecky hamper that is included too, just delicious. You will not be disappointed with your stay. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a night or two away!

Absolutely magical! We had the pleasure of staying at this cottage retreat and were blown away by the level of comfort, beauty, and serenity it offered. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well-equipped with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The surrounding countryside was breathtaking and provided the perfect escape. Jan was incredibly warm and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed for a memorable stay. We felt truly spoiled. I can't recommend this place enough and can't wait to return and make more amazing memories!

Warm Earth Cottage is an absolutely wonderful, magical place to stay - we cannot recommend it highly enough! We've just returned from a fabulous night away here and would love to go back. The setting is beautiful - a secluded rural spot, with beautiful gardens, a flowing river (heard from the room), an orchard and loads of spots to sit and just be. The accommodation is perfect - comfortable and welcoming, with absolutely everything you could need. Jan is the most amazing host we have ever met - she is an incredibly warm and welcoming, and she has thought of absolutely everything. Jan has great communication and goes out of her way to help you enjoy the stay. We loved the breakfast hamper in the morning which we cooked on the BBQ, with our coffee boiled on the gas cooker. The whole experience was relaxing and peaceful. We'd love to stay here again and highly recommend heading to this place. With huge thanks to Jan, who makes this not just a night away, but an incredible experience.

This place is amazing! So nice and quiet out in the country with nature. Jan was amazing when we arrived. Showed us everything we needed to know and more! Such a beautiful cabin along with the outdoor bath heated by its own fire! Candles lit everywhere. Couldn’t of asked for a better get away. Just what my partner and I needed. Not to mention the breakfast delivery to our front door in the morning! Beautiful basket full with breakfast goodies you cook yourself on the bbq outside.10/10, would recommend Jan’s place to anyone wanted to escape and relax for a night or weekend away.

I'm so glad I found this place. A beautiful setting, amazing room and excellent service. So many small details carefully executed to make a perfect romantic getaway. Perfect in any season. The room has a fire and private fire lit bath. But there is also beautiful swimming holes that would be amazing in summer. Jan has managed to create a secluded spot where you're in a little love bubble and you can even get add an amazing massage to enhance the experience.

Absolutely stunning place. Peaceful and tranquil. The host Jan was amazing, going above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Would highly recommend.

Where do I start ...One of best hidden gems in NZ. It is a real slice of paradise which is carefully looked after by ever so loving & caring Jan. From the time we got welcomed to the time we left, we felt like we were family. She took care of every minute detail and such beautiful breakfast baskets with small flower bouquets and personalised hand written notes. Having stayed in a lot of 5 star hotels around the world, they can come to Jan and learn real hospitality and care from her. She leaves them in dust. A must visit place for everyone... We will be going back very soon.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the lovely Jan, She told us where to park then gave us a wonderful tour of the hidden Gem. Jan was absolutely fantastic and has thought of absolutely EVERYTHING that you could possibly need while staying in these beautiful cabins. The food that was supplied was beautiful and very fulling. The cottage itself was nice and cosy and the Bath is AMAZING! We spent our 8th wedding anniversary there and cant wait to visit again! Highly recommend if you are looking to escape the kiddies and the stresses of life for the weekend or even a night you will NOT Regret it!
