I'm really stoked with how my tattoo turned out. Really friendly and professional team. Made me less nervous as was my first tattoo and was sure what to expect. Good information about after care. All around, a really great place. Will definitely be going back!

Worst experience I’ve had at a tattoo studio. Took my sister with me for her 21st birthday to get a matching tattoo of a realistic pet portrait for our kitten who had just died.We booked in to see Mike Shaw as I have had work done by him before at his previous studio. He was like a completely different person and my sister and I agreed we felt very uncomfortable during the consultation as he was very cold and disinterested and we felt like we were being an inconvenience.Nonetheless, he did such a wonderful job of my other pet portrait that I decided to prioritise skill over customer service. I paid the $200 deposit and booked the tattoo. This all happened in July 2021. Then lockdown happened and our tattoo was postponed to October 2022.Recently, I emailed the shop to confirm our booking and didn’t hear back. So I contacted Mike directly who confirmed the booking, but asked if my sister and I could come in the week prior to go over the design again “since it had been so long since our consultation that he couldn’t remember the design.” What is the point in paying a non-refundable deposit, which is part of the shops policy in order to ‘protect artists precious time’ if in that time the artist never worked on your design? This has made me lose all confidence in Mike and the shop. I would much rather be tattooed by someone who is actually interested in the clients design, even if it isn’t their style preference.All in all, the worst customer service I’ve ever received and am gutted to have lost $200 over this unpleasant and upsetting experience.

Fantastic experience. Lovely people can't do enough for you. I had Nami to do my memorial tattoo of my late husband. I am over the moon with it.

I recently had a tattoo done by Meg she was lovely made me feel relaxed and did a great job. I am very happy with it. Receptionist was lovely as well. I found it very reasonable in price. All round a pleasant experience. Watch the space I might me back. Thanks Lynne

I've been to BCT a lot this year. Love the professionalism and the quality of the work. Super friendly and talented team. Just came home from there with some fresh ink by Amy Trouble.

Mike is an awesome tattooist me and my partner got matching tattoos hes one of the best out there he was comforting and empathetic towards how you feel about your design his line work is amazing i definitely recommend him to anyone and am most definitely getting more done by him.

I have had tattoos done by Erica and Damian, both artists are warm and welcoming and make the process a dream, settling any nerves quickly. My tattoos are of the highest quality and I couldn’t be happier. Shop has a great vibe and I will definitely be back for more ink. Very much recommend Black Cat Tattoo!

Damo nailed what I wanted perfectly but the front desk wanted to charge me EXTRA $300 for 2 tiny little coin sized tattoos on my head. Would have been $500 total for about literally 30 mins tattooing time!!!Tattoo is immaculate but I was a bit dodged out by the outrageous price and their reasoning was it's harder for the artist to tattoo the face and neck" ... is it though??? I have good mates who are tattoo artists and they said that was dodgy.No shade on Damo though he's the man.Good shop just felt *almost* swindled."
