I was really nervous when I called Greg and asked about learning guitar as an adult. He was so reassuring and accommodating and I can’t believe I didn’t start earlier. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I love the idea of singing along while I play and hope to one day write my own music. I 100% recommend Christchurch Guitar School if you’re thinking about taking up an instrument. It’s the most fun part of my week and my progress has been huge. I look forward to a new song each week and can’t wait to see where this takes me.

I am 64 years old and took up playing electric guitar 2 years ago after many years of being able to play a few basic songs on an acoustic and wishing I could play guitar properly. I managed to teach myself a few songs from Youtube, but was frustrated that my progress was very slow and piecemeal.Taking lessons from Greg has turned out to be the best decision I have made on my guitar journey. He had to take me back to basics to correct some bad techniques in my strumming and then focus me on my counting to improve my timekeeping. It has been a challenge to change these old habits but Greg is an enthusiastic teacher and quickly realised what I needed to learn. He was able to guide me step by step so I could make rapid progress. Whilst relearning these techniques Greg was teaching me some of my favourite classic rock songs as well as some songs new to me. I can clearly hear the improvement in my playing and always feel encouraged and inspired after each weekly lesson and excited to be going home to practise some more.

Having played a guitar on and off since i was a teen, basically teaching myself, i had become in a position of not moving forward with playing. When i came cross an add for CHCH GUITAR SCHOOL, i enrolled in a course at the beginning of the year. I feel my playing and understanding of gutiar has taken a leap forward. I really looking forward to my lessons every week. I find greg to be a very patient teacher and explains everything in a clear and understandable way, he’s always happy to go back to something that i dont understand. My regret is that i should have done this years ago, you’re never to old to learn. Cheers.

I needed an activity that supported my mental wellness. Returning as an adult student was a tad overwhelming but I quickly felt relaxed with Greg's teaching style. Highly recommend to all.

I joined this school four months ago and have absolutely loved the experience. On joining I was a little nervous that at my age (53) starting out to learn the guitar would be unusual and difficult. It couldn't have been further from what happened. Greg and the team have been fantastic to help me start and accelerate through learnings and I am now playing great popular pieces and absolutely love the guitar. The journey ahead is exciting and I enjoy playing to family and friends as well as getting my own enjoyment playing. Great experience working with Greg at Christchurch Guitar School.The lessons are easy to follow and move at your own pace.I had previous experience playing and they have taken that into account in structuring songs and lessons.The team have been quick to answer any questions and follow up lessons with feedback.I would recommend for any age wanting to start or get back into playing guitar

I started with Greg after about 18 months after I started playing and I decided I wanted to do things correctly, make sure I wasn't developing bad practises, get instant feedback, and follow a well structured program. Most of those things are very hard to accomplish online or via apps so I decided to get some professional tutoring.After phoning a few and trialing one I found Greg and the Chrischurch Guitar School. I can say he ticks all the boxes and on top of that is freindly, approachable and is an excellent tutor.For each person, the training will differ depending womewhat on your goals, but for me, he analysed my current level, we decidedd to go back to the beginning and iron out some bad habits I had picked up, put some polish on some other things and started building my skills back up but with a much more solid, technical and professional polish. Exactly what I wanted.I fully endorse Greg and the Christchurch Guitar School and highly recommend anyone give them a go if they are looking for any form of tutoring or training.JR

I’m really enjoying the lessons at Christchurch Guitar School. I’m an adult beginner and am finding the lessons fun and at a perfect pace. Greg is patient and encouraging - he explains the music extremely well. Every lesson has a new popular song and I am learning something new every time. I would highly recommend.

Im a adult learner, complete beginner . Attending classes regularly under the guidance of Greg. I find it really enjoyable. A patient, positive environment. Learning to play the correct way. Reading music, learning techniques. I’m set achievable tasks that I am inspired to reach.Greg as a teacher is very genuine and wants me to succeed .
