Was struggling to find a place for my 90yrs dad, Fortunately, I found Briargate, a place that got everything I am expecting for my dementia dad. Visited frequently and every time Im there, I see how happy my dad was. Excellent!!!!!!

Severerly understaffed, the place is neglected and so are the residents.. they sit in soiled nappies for days on end, killing their dignity. Send ya loved ones elsewhere they deserve better than this for profit cash cow instutution.

Flaxmore provides excellent care of our mother. She is so happy there and the staff are so caring that she thinks she lives in a hotel! Flaxmore is not the newest care facility in town but what it lacks in flash furnishings is more than made up for by the personal care and respect provided by the staff and having had experience of both we are well qualified to compare. The grounds are beautifully kept and the meals nutritious. The recreation staff kept the residents well occupied and stimulated with a variety of crafts, events, celebrations and outings. We regularly receive photos of our mother enjoying an activity.

Bed and pillows extremely comfortable, especially when compared to public. Room was nice and private.However as far as food goes, this hospital really need fo get with the programme as far as the latest info on nutrition goes. They’re still following a ‘‘Heart Foundation recommended diet’, which means their meals have practislly zero fat, even healthy fats like olive oil or avocado, nuts or seeds would add to the satiety factor.There are also *no* balanced breakfast options that offer any protein or carbs (ie. brand, eggs). It’s pure carbs/cardboard (toast, cornflakes etc) I was sitting there left feeling half starved as a result, and found myself far bettter fed at Chch Public HidpitalPerhaps her a more modern doticiab on board

Mum is very happy at this Rest Home. Staff are friendly and helpful.

I was in ward 29, the Staff where amazing so a BIG Thank you to all the staff on ward 29, also a BIG Thankyou to all the surgical Staff. The care and support I was given was amazing. I was lucky enough to be one of the first in the new surgical area which is so much nicer. So we are on the right track towards a good hospital.

I have Undergone a surgery few days back in Middlemore hospital. The nurses are gentle, Kind and caring. They even looked after my belongings when I went to surgery, packed everything nicely and brought to me after surgery. Doctors are amazing and understanding too. They understood my pain and did surgery within two days. A big thank you to whole Middlemore team. Emergency department is extremely busy and the wait time is too long though but this is what it is.
