Vegetarian cafe and deli

It's such a sweet sunny lunch place in the uni. A bit tricky to find but definitely worth to search ;) Best Kumara fries and more delicious vegetarian food, can just recommend it! And everything is so cheap. It's the healthy alternative to a canteen. I already know what to try the next time.

Wild Pear Kitchen is more than a plant-based cafe - it has spontaneously created a community of people seeking food that is fresh and alive.The New Plymouth cafe has tasty soups (the Thai pumpkin is the best I’ve ever tasted), a medley of fresh and colourful salads and delicious baked dishes (always changing) for vegans, vegetarians and people seeking healthy food options.The welcoming staff make you feel like you’ve come home for breakfast, lunch or just popped in for a coffee, hot chocolate or smoothie. For a treat, try a vegan donut, lamington or cheesecake - they are divine. This is easily my favourite cafe in Taranaki and in Aotearoa (New Zealand), not that I’ve been everywhere.

We were looking for breakfast and coffee and saw Finom - but we got sooooo much more! From the friendliest and loveliest service to finding out all food was vegetarian, not to mention the quirky but cool interior, we were in foodie/holiday/satisfied heaven! When ever we are in Carterton again we will be heading to Finom.

Got a classic steak and cheese pie and it was probably the best I've ever had. The filling was the perfect ratio of tender beef chunks, gravy and goey cheese. They also did not skimp on the beef and the pastry held up well. It was just divine.

Ian and Janet are real crafts people. Bread made from scratch, not some fancy mixture and 'just add water'. It really is the best bread you'll ever taste. The divine ciabatta is a personal favorite!

Fantastic coffee and delicious brunch!The oat milk flat white was creamy and perfect, one of the best I've had in gizzy. The waffles were light, fluffy and full of flavor. My waffles were hummus, tomato, mushroom, BBQ sauce, wife had the pesto ones, kids the cream ones. Everyone loved them. Super nice decor inside, outside was quiet on a Saturday morning. Everything we ate was vegan, but plenty of other vegan and nonvegan options were there.We'll return for sure.

Had a delicious lunch/brunch here. Good choice of food. Nice surroundings and not noisy. Excellent customer service by our lovely young waitress.

Food was incredible. We had the vanilla risotto and the corn fritters, they were lovely, really good well made food. I am celiac, and the chef was lovely and assured me that they were able to accommodate for me, which I really appreciated. Great service and really lovely staff. Beautiful lake view, over all a 10/10 experience.

Delicious toasted sandwiches.Generous amount of fillings inside, sooooo much meat in mine.Good value for money given the fillings inside.Nice spot to sit down by the window bar seats to eat delicious sandwiches whilst taking in the sunny rays.

Not a big place but loads of fun areas for the kids. Cafe is on the other side of the glass and serves excellent quality food along with great friendly service. There are staff roaming continuously keeping the playground clean, safe and supervised at all times. Bean bags are placed in the play area for parents to relax while watching kids go crazy. Everything is padded and in working order. There's also tables and chairs for dining just outside the play area. They also have a hippo mascot who roams every now and then for the kids to marvel around. They have a human claw (Paw) machine at $20 per go which is super fun and rewarding for every participating child. There is a height and weight limit though so its best to check with staff before putting your child on. They have a party room for hire and also run holiday programmes for kids. Highly recommended for any occasion as its endless fun as we saw. Our kids loved every minute of it. Thank you Hippo Playground!
