I used to frequent this restaurant with my family for more than 10 years when I lived in the area. I recently came back to the area with my fiancee for a date, everything was just as I had remembered. The food tasted the same and the atmosphere is still great. I'm glad they have been able to survive the pandemic and hope they keep making the food I love.

Nice yakitori bar but generalyl come here for dons and have some yakitori sticks on the side. The dons aren't the biggest but they are quite nice. A fairly large selection on the menu and it is all quite good.It is generally self service for water and tea.

The food fine, but the waiter haven’t taken plates and chopsticks for us, because we haven’t ordered many food.I feel kind of rude, because he took for all rest customers.

A place I used to visit often when I was a student. A place to visit once in old memories. The price has risen a lot, and the analog bill makes customers wait too long to pay.

Hands down my absolute favourite restaurant, we live in Orewa and travel down just for their food. Their yakitori combo is incredible, highly recommend ordering this dish. Loved every dish I've ever ordered. Thanks so much team for always delivering amazing food :-)

One of the worse yakitori bar ever visited.Chicken Karaage was hard on the outside and also hard on the inside and dry ,,, suppose to be juicy. There should be side salad like cabbage & Mayonnaise as you get serve in most of Japanese restaurants with Karaage chicken ,so when we asked for sauce, $3 to add a tiny tub of mayo.Rice was really hard and not cooked properly & cold no steam , tasted like it was left over.the food is not worth for its price to be honest. Not a welcoming atmosphere.I would not go back and would not recommend to anyone.

this location is owned by a korean (wearing glasses), not japanese (the one at Anzac Avenue is japanese, which is also more delicious). the employees talk in korean between themselves too. small table (like us) gets ignored. doesn't matter if you arrive first, they will always serve a larger table first by bringing them their food and letting your table wait another 10 to 15 minutes. very poor customer service compare to Ken Yakitori Anzac Ave (where staff is courteous, greet you at the door and their yakitori is a lot more delicious).it's very strange when you sit opposite the yakitori grill and you try talking to the chef but he ignores you. at the Ken Yakitori Anzac Ave, their chef will engage in lively conversation with you and always smiling.never again. a korean bbq place masquerading as japanese yakitori.

Our favourite Japanese restaurant in town! Hot and fresh foods, wash down with sake or a cold beer. Staff are always friendly and attentive. Parking is not convenient but the food and cosy ambience makes up for that.
