A bit underwhelming given the renovation took so long. There are a few shops inside the station.

Great customer service and really friendly

Don't expect any help of the only staff member is in the phone.We waited a solid 5 minutes while she appeared to be more interested in giving travel tips to someone on the ihine without even giving a glance in our direction.Meanwhile, we could SEE the pamphlets we needed with cycling trails across behind the desk!Thank goodness for Google!!SO frustrating.

I'm dealing with the isite on a regular basis, they displaying our brochures, and found them always friendly and helpful. Hope to continue the arrangement for some time.

Good place for quick look round.

Staff here were lovely however I wasn't allowed to store my luggage here as I 'might be a terrorist'. Which meant I had to taxi to my hotel before check in time to drop off my luggage, taxi back into town, then taxi back to the hotel at check in time. A costly inconvenience. While the idea that Timaru would present an attractive target for terrorists is laughable, I had mistakenly thought this was an I-site (which let me store my luggage all over the country) and understand they have their own policies. I dare say this one is not attractive to travellers however and certainly puts me off returning.

Not very informative? Visitor parking should be free,after all one visiting here is to discover the region.

Though much of the rail network is under repair it is a great hub of activity not just transport.Plenty of places to eat, and if want to take a load off, or people watch, the historical building is a grand place to do it.Part of the overall precinct you'll find it sitting in the middle of the Britomart Precinct it's easy to find...just look up. Steps away from Commercial Bay Mall, Ferry Terminal, The Cloud, Shed 10, Princess Wharf, Waterfront and water, Britomart is the connector you need to meet people or as part of your planning point when exploring the CBD.
