Very satisfied with the Digital Recovery Services. My business laptop (Mac Book Pro) crashed and didin't want to start anymore. I had some critical stored on SSD that was not backed up. Losing that data would have been a disaster. I spoke with some other service companies located in Auckland, however, the consultation process was not satisfying at all, and everyone was saying that the laptop will be irreperablly damaged after the recovery attempt regardless of whether or not there were able to recover the data. Having a phone chat with James from Digital Recovery gave me much more confidence that they would be able to recover my data. In addition, there was a chance that my laptop would not be damaged because of their specific diagnosis methodology. Eventually, I got all my data back, and my MacBook that is now working again!

The worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. My case was more complex, so I understood there were additional upfront charges and extra time associated for this. However, DataLab had my phone for over 6 months. In this time I’d contacted them to see how things were going and for an update or estimated timeframe. Initially they were good and gave me an update or two. Then as time drifted by, they completely ignored my emails and didn’t call me back when they said they would. It actually started to feel like I’d been scammed out of the money I paid upfront because they seemed to just vanish on me completely. After this whole saga, I got sick of waiting for the job to be done when clearly it wasn’t being done, and as I was moving abroad and requested my phone back. When I originally sent the phone to them it was working. When they sent it back to me in pieces and it wasn’t working anymore and they weren’t able to tell me what had been done to the phone and which pieces were what. I since sent my phone into another data recovery service overseas. It cost me $2000 for the other company to figure out what the hell DataLab had done, and the job was done within 10 days. I’d give DataLab 0 stars if I could. They cost me a lot of time, a lot of stress, and a lot of extra money. Don’t waste your resources. If your data is extremely precious, as mine was, send it elsewhere.

I had a hard drive crash. A prompt and efficient service was given to me .both at home and at their workshop. Happy to recommend this service to any one. Gordon Scandrett.

I purchased a charger for my phone which I took into the shop with me, the first charger didn't work so the guy got another charger out, quickly plugged it in and then sold it to me. I didn't see it charging and wrongly assumed that it was working. I got home and plugged new charger into the phone - didn't charge. I went in to return it today and asked for my money back.... but alas I was told they don't refund they only replace the goods. Really very disappointing as I like to support local business but not those who knowingly sell things to customers that don't work and when customer returns it they say no refund only replace" - that is pure deception to me. Needless to say that I won't ever be shopping there again."
